Outline @ Unipol Arena for “CIRCOLOCO” Event

The Club Music scene for years has had a strong impact on generations, influencing culture and entertainment in the music business. Major international EDM and Electro events are growing even bigger, impacted by increasingly important productions advancements.

On December 9th at the Bologna UNIPOL ARENA the “CIRCOLOCO” was held, an international show of Club House Music where the Outline GTO system was the main PA for the event.

“CIRCOLOCO” is a format and a brand born in Ibiza many years ago, supported and created by Antonio Carbonaro – the owner of the famous DC10 music label. “CIRCOLOCO” has its own unique identity and includes many international artists who accompany this project around the world.

The audio design and set-up was entrusted to Emporio on Stage (Scandicci – Florence), with the support of the Outline staff. It was composed of 12 GTO systems + GTO-DF (down-fill) modules for sides, 12 + 12 DBS 18-2 sub-bass units, 4 + 4 infra-sub LAB 21 HS and 6 front-fill comprised of 2 Mantas 28 each.

Angelo Catoni, owner of Emporio on Stage, commented: “For the main PA we installed 12 GTO + DF (down-fill) systems on each side of the stage that guaranteed optimal coverage of the venue and 6 Mantas 28 systems as front-fill to balance the medium / high frequencies. We have chosen to work with a ratio of 1/1 between top and sub adding 4 + 4 LAB 21 as infra in the central part to have a very important sum on the bass, given the type of event.”

The audio sound design for this event had to follow very precise directives required by the concerts production. For the Unipol Arena production, the importance of high coverage and sound pressure in a very large arena, like the Unipol, was a fundamental requirement for the success of the show.

We also spoke to the production manager Gualtiero Sabatini, “I was really impressed by the accuracy of the audio package and the final result. The audio coverage in the room was optimal, with an incredible sound pressure, deep and precise bass and fundamental for enhancing the music of the CIRCOLOCO show. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised also by the clean upper middle frequencies, even at such high sound pressure. What to say, the Outline GTO system is truly incredible.”

A successful second edition of “CIRCOLOCO” in Bologna with plenty of turnout and an evening full of smiles and satisfaction.

Outline amplifica il “CIRCOLOCO” show

La Club Music da anni ha un forte impatto nelle generazioni, nella cultura e nel Music Business dell’intrattenimento. Basti pensare ai grandi eventi internazionali di EDM ed Electro sempre più grandi e con allestimenti sempre più importanti. Il 9 dicembre presso l’UNIPOL ARENA di Bologna si è svolto “CIRCOLOCO”, uno show internazionale di Club House Music dove il GTO Outline è stato PA principale dell’evento. “CIRCOLOCO” è un format ed un brand nato ad Ibiza molti anni fa, sostenuto e ideato da Antonio Carbonaro, con una propria identità ed artisti internazionali che accompagnano questo progetto in giro per il mondo. L’allestimento audio e la progettazione sono stati affidati ad Emporio on Stage di Scandicci, con il supporto sul campo dello staff Outline.

Il set-up audio era composto da 12 sistemi GTO + down-fill (GTO-DF) per parte, 12 + 12 DBS 18-2 subwoofer, 4+4 infra-sub LAB 21 HS e 6 front-fill formati da 2 Mantas 28 ciascuno.

Angelo Catoni proprietario di Emporio on Stage ha dichiarato: “Come PA principale abbiamo montato 12 sistemi GTO + DF per lato che ci garantivano una copertura ottimale della venue e 6 sistemi Mantas 28 come front-fill per avere un bilanciamento delle medio/alte sul fronte palco. Abbiamo scelto di lavorare con un rapporto 1/1 tra top e sub aggiungendo 4+4 LAB 21 come infra nella parte centrale per avere una somma sulle basse molto importante visto la tipologia dell’evento.”

Il disegno audio doveva seguire direttive tecniche ben precise. Per la produzione, l’importanza di avere una copertura ed una pressione sonora elevata, in un ambiente molto grande come quello dell’arena era un’esigenza fondamentale per la riuscita dello show. Abbiamo scambiato due parole anche con il direttore di produzione Gualtiero Sabatini, che ha commentato: “Sono rimasto veramente colpito dall’accuratezza del progetto audio e dal risultato finale. La copertura nella sala è stata ottimale, con una pressione sonora incredibile, bassi profondi e precisi, fondamentali per valorizzare la musica di CIRCOLOCO. Devo dire che sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso anche dalla pulizia nella parte medio-alta, anche a pressioni sonore così elevate. Che dire: Il GTO Outline è veramente incredibile”.
